The Golden Girls... it's a girl thing

Blanche: I'm abhorred. Sophia: We know what you are, Blanche. I'm glad to finally hear you admit it. Blanche: Sophia, I said abhorred. Sophia: Abhorred, a slut, a tramp. It's all the same. Dorothy: I have a date. Blanche: With a man? Dorothy: No, Blanche, with a venus fly trap!

It's weird how this show is liked by many people I know. The Golden Girls is FUNNY! And if you don't believe me watch an episode or two in the Lifetime channel and see for yourself. My friends from work and I were talking about it during our lunch hour and we were all surprised about how we all watch a show about women seniors. It's strange I tell you but it's a womens thing. I think. All the women I know all watch this show. No matter if they are 15 or 55 or whatever age. It's a universal thing because each one of these golden ladies are hilarious.

There's Blanche, the slut from the deep south, Rose the Moron of St. Olaf, Dorothy the sarcastic one of Brooklyn and Sophia, the even more sarcastic one from Sicily. I love Sophia. I don't know any other 80 year old that has such a quick mouth as she has and her comments are so funny. Just look at that quote from up above.

Unlike the typical shows nowadays... everything is just so dry. There's no humor in several TV shows anymore because every show try to be like a copy of another. But the Golden Girls were different. I mean who would have thought a show with 50/60 something women and an 80 year old at that can be funny? I thought my friend was crazy at first when she told me she watches this show but soon enough I was watching it everyday at 9:00 too.

I love Blanche, Sophia, Dorothy and Rose. They are so fiesty and I love the insults they throw at each other. Give Golden Girls a try. It's always on at the Lifetime channel and watch it. You'll love their antics. You might think I'm crazy but hell, I already am. But now knowing that others my age and those who are older and younger than me watch it, I'm not that strange.
