Pictures say a thousand words
~By Cindy

I first have to say that I love taking pictures. Pictures to me are one of the greatest things in the world because life, happiness, sadness, memories... all is captured right there in a snapshot. You think back to those times and sometimes you wish you were back there again. I love looking through photo albums, I love the good old days. I love remembering things like that... so here are some pictures of me and my family... some taken recently, some from the long gone past... but everytime I look at them I smile...

----------------------

My mom took this picture of me when I was just about to turn four. My sister was still a newborn and I was sitting on my mom's bed watching my sister sleep. I wanted to cradle her in my arms but ended up just holding her hand. I really like my hair here. This was taken during the night after I had just taken a bath, hence the pajamas I'm wearing. I don't really know why I remember that... but I do. I guess because it was a nice night and everything was happy.

This is a picture of me with my great-grandmother. It was taken inside the house of my uncle Martin, who used to live in this great, big amazing house in Manila. I remember it well because the house was in this secluded area with grass everywhere and they had this big black piano. See how my arm is cut off in this picture? I wondered why that was so and asked my dad where the rest of my arm was and he said it was on the other side of the picture. Of course when I flipped it over, there was nothing there. I still flip that picture now, just for fun.

This is a picture of my sister Zusie when she was 10 months old. We were over at our grandparents house in Quezon City when this picture was taken. Our lola (grandma) was watching her walk around with her walker. She looks really happy here doesn't she? We were getting ready for our Dad to arrive.

This is my cousin Oliver. You can't really tell from this picture but he's one of only two cousins to have natural curly hair. What a lucky guy. And he has such a deep dimple on his check, which makes him have quite a nice smile. Oliver is the same age as me. He's only 3 months older. We used to play together when we were little before everything happened. He's now 6ft tall, a cook (his cooking is amazing! Yummy), drives a motorcycle, and has a daughter.

This is Oliver again and Ryan. Ryan is two years older than Oliver and me and was the oldest cousin in my Mom's side. This is one of the few baby pictures I have of him. Although I never really got a chance to know my cousin before he died, I still keep the few memories I have of him in my heart and will always miss him

This is me and my cousin Mark. Mark, Oliver and I were all born on the same year except Mark was born in May which makes him a grade older than me and Oliver. Don't we look so innocent? Mark is now a sailor and is happily married and has a son named Sean. Can you believe that?

These are my cousins Joshua, Greafel, Mia, and Althea... This was taken in Jan '03 when my mom and my sisters took a month long vacation in the Philippines. Like Mark, Oliver and I who were born on the same year... Greafel, Mia and Althea were also born on the same year 20 years later. Pretty cool huh? I love them with all my heart. They are the cutest things. I don't know if you can tell from the picture, but since Mia dressed herself, she had her two legs together in one pant leg. Haha... After everyone started laughing about it, she fixed it up. It was quite funny though. Mia is so talkative and very spunky. I love talking to her and her answers always amaze me. She is one smart girl. She also has natural very curly hair. I'm jealous.

This is Joshua. His full name is Alfred Dane Joshua.. It sounds so regal, doesn't it? This was taken after he had just eaten chocolate ice cream, so he had ice cream all over his face. Joshua is so sweet. I can tell you honestly that he is the nicest one in the bunch of little cousins. He follows the girls around a lot and I'll aways remember him running around my lolo's (grandfather) house with one shoe on and didn't have a care in the world.

This is Brian. Another little cousin. I have plenty in my mom's side since she has 11 brothers and sisters. Brian is a year old here and has such a charming smile you can't help but fall in love with him. I love how shy he is but when you start dancing, he'll start smiling and he'll start dancing along with you. When he sees you hurt he'll come to you and wipe your tears away and pat your shoulder. Awww... and he's only one! I love him to pieces.

This is Maureen when she was around a year or two years old with our cousin from Dad's side of the family, Tony. This was taken inside our old house in Wisconsin and we were coloring eggs for Easter. I love this picture because Maureen looks like such a boy because she didn't grow any hair until she was four. And I just love that smurf sweatshirt she has on. Tony is cute here too. Out of all the cousins I have in my dad's side of the family, Tony is the nicest of all although not many realize how kind he really is because of all the foolishness he has done. He sort of looks like Keanu Reeves in a way now and will soon get married. I can't belive that still. My sisters and I grew up with him in WI. He never failed to make us laugh and he also has the nicest smile in the world.

Well that is all. A small peek at my photo album of sisters and cousins. I just love remembering stuff like this and talking about it. I hope I didn't bore any of you.
